Our Favorite Nepo Baby got a Job!
Congrats are in order for my favorite amusement/neop baby Jack Schlossburg! He now finally has a job! He has recently been hired by Vogue as their official political correspondent. With this news we were also honored with an article and photoshoot introducing the new writer. The pictures look like Jack is ambushing the offices of Vogue and I would like to think they didn’t tell any of the staffers of this photoshoot and he is actually terrorizing Vogue staffers. There is one photo where it looks like he is running with scissors and his scooter makes another triumphed return! The article is a fun read where we get to learn that Jack describes himself as a “silly goose” (an accurate self assessment) and how his interest in politics piqued when Obama was running for president in 2007. Some people have voiced their displeasure of Jack being given this new correspondent position. I will have to point out this is not a real position. When has Vogue ever covered politics? It is sad journalists are being fired left and right but when did Vogue care about real journalism? When Anna Wintour kicked Andre Leon Talley, the great fashion journalist, to the curb (I will expand on another date) that is when I knew Vogue didn’t care about real journalism. This is why I will be enjoying my latest amusements foray into journalism.
I Watched Family Affair So You Don’t Have To (You Really Don’t Have To)
Last week I mentioned Zac Efron was doing press for a movie that I would possibly watch. Well I did. Sadly this was not that fun garbage I was hoping for, it was just normal garbage. All I could think while watching this was “wow how did they get Nicole Kidman and Kathy Bates to agree to this” I mean they have Oscars. Family Affair joins The Idea of You of being films about older women (mom age) falling in love with some sort of younger celebrity. To my surprise my Mom had watched The Idea of You and loved it. As she is one of the harshest and most inconsistent critic I know, I thought she might like watching the Family Affair with me. I thought The Idea of You was fine. I thought the Anne Hathaway character was a bit annoying because she had no backbone but otherwise it was a perfectly fine cheesy movie. Now compared to the Family Affair, The Idea of You looks like it could win an Oscar. I’ll be nice and say I thought Family Affair had some funny stupid moments. I even laughed sometimes. I wish they would have leaned more into this being funny because when things took a serious dramatic turn I couldn’t take it seriously. I was visibly cringing and my mom was rolling her eyes. The plot was very predictable. There is a side plot with Liza Koshy as the best friend which felt pointless to watch. Kathy Bates was underutilized and could have at least made a couple more jokes. I thought the Joey King character was annoying and I had no idea why she was so invested in her Mother’s dating life. They should have made the Nicole Kidman character funnier but instead she is just there. Zac Efron was funny at times and played the self absorbed celebrity actor well but even he couldn’t pull this movie together. Also, it’s randomly set around Christmas time. My mom gave the movie 0/5 stars I was a bit forgiving and gave it ⅖ stars. Either way I would give this one a skip or maybe have it in the background while you do something else.
Joe Biden Got a Tan
Joe Biden did an interview with George Stephanopoulos to cast any worry away on his horrendous debate performance. Did it work? Not really. I did not watch the entire interview as I already suffered watching the debate. From what I saw and read it looks Joe is making clear he is not backing down and is still going to run. All I have to say is great…? Do I wish the Democrats would have an actual convention to find an actual candidate that is not geriatric age? YES. But they will most likely let me down and cling on to Biden like their lives depend on it. Since Biden won’t be realistic and cling onto power like Kim Kardashian clings to her youth and beauty we are stuck with him.
Speaking of the Kardashians, did anyone else notice they had the same lighting/filter they used on the Kardashian reality show in the George Stepenpoplous interview. Joe has a glow to him which could have also been bronzer. The interview was supposed to make him look youthful but all I could think is this is what he would look like in heaven.
That’s all folk! Let me know if you have anything in particular you want me to cover in the next newsletter! See ya!
